One moonlit night, as the stars twinkled like tiny lanterns in the sky, a little mouse named Mira tiptoed through the forest. Her paws were soft as clouds, and her ears perked up at every rustle in the underbrush. Mira was not like the other mice who scurried and hid. She loved stories, and her favorite time was just before bedtime, when the world seemed to whisper secrets in the dark.
As Mira nibbled on a leafy snack, she noticed something unusual on the ground—a golden muffin, warm and glowing faintly in the moonlight. It smelled like cinnamon and honey, and it was bigger than Mira herself. Her eyes widened with wonder. 'This is no ordinary muffin,' she whispered, her voice like a breeze in the trees. She picked it up with her tiny paws and took one cautious bite. It was delicious, and it made her feel warm and sleepy all over.
Suddenly, the muffin began to shimmer, and a trail of glowing crumbs appeared behind it, winding through the forest like a silver path. Mira tilted her head, curious and a little nervous. 'Where does this go?' she asked herself. Without thinking, she followed the crumbs, her heart beating with excitement. The path led her to a clearing where a tall, friendly giant was sitting under a great oak tree, humming a lullaby.
'Hello there, little one,' the giant said, his voice like thunder rolling softly in the distance. 'I’m Bumble, and I bake the most magical muffins in the forest. They’re for sleepy creatures like you, who need a little help drifting off to dreamland.' Mira looked up at him, her eyes wide. 'You made this muffin?' she asked. 'Yes,' Bumble smiled, handing her a fresh one. 'And I make them every night, just for the animals who need them most.'
Mira sat beside Bumble, eating the muffin as the giant told her stories about the stars and the moon. The forest around them felt peaceful and safe, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of cinnamon and clove. She listened with her whole heart, her eyelids growing heavy. 'It’s time for you to sleep, little mouse,' Bumble said gently, patting her head. 'The muffin will help you dream of wonderful things.'
With a yawn, Mira curled up under a soft blanket of moss and fell into a deep, dreamy sleep. When she woke up the next morning, the forest was quiet and bright, and the muffin was gone. But in her heart, she carried the warmth of a kind giant and the magic of a moonlit muffin. From that night on, Mira knew that the world was full of gentle surprises, waiting for those who dared to dream.
And so, every night, she would listen to the wind and the trees, hoping to hear Bumble’s lullaby once more. Because kindness, like a muffin, can warm the heart and bring a smile before bedtime.
