One sunny morning, while skipping through the golden leaves of Maplewood Forest, Lila heard a tiny, melodic whisper. 'Follow the song, little one,' it chimed. She tilted her head and followed the sound deeper into the woods, where the trees grew taller and the air smelled of pine and earth.
There, perched on a mossy log, was a wren no bigger than her thumb. Its feathers shimmered like sunlight on water. 'Hello, Lila,' it said, blinking its bright eyes. 'I am Wrenly, and I need your help to find the Song of the Silver Brook.' 'Why?' Lila asked. 'Because it's lost, and without it, the forest will lose its joy.'
Together, they wove through thickets and over stone bridges, past sleepy badgers and giggling foxes. Wrenly's song guided them, and Lila’s laughter echoed between the trees. At last, they reached a brook that sparkled like silver under the sun. But the song was gone. 'It's hidden in the heart of the brook,' Wrenly said, 'but only kindness can unlock it.'
Lila knelt by the water and placed her hands gently in the stream. She hummed a tune her grandmother once sang. Slowly, the brook began to hum back, and the water shimmered with light. The Song of the Silver Brook was restored, and the forest came alive with music and color. Wrenly bowed. 'You've saved the forest, Lila. You are a true friend.' From that day on, every time Lila walked through the woods, the brook would sing just for her. And kindness always finds a way.
