In a lush, green forest filled with tall trees and sparkling streams, lived a little fox named Felix. Felix had soft, golden fur and bright, curious eyes. He was clever and quick, but he had one big problem—he never shared anything. Whether it was berries, toys, or even his favorite tree branch, Felix always kept them all to himself.
One sunny morning, Felix was out foraging for berries when he spotted a plump, red berry bush. He pounced, grabbed as many berries as he could carry, and hid them in a hollow log. He smiled to himself, thinking, 'These are all mine! No one else can have them.'
Later that day, a group of animals gathered at the berry bush. A rabbit named Rosie, a squirrel named Sammy, and a deer named Dana were looking for food. When they saw the bush was empty, they looked around in confusion. Rosie sighed, “Where are the berries?” Sammy said, “I was so hungry, and now there are none.” Dana whispered, “Maybe Felix took them.”
They went to find Felix, and when they found him, he was sitting by his log, happily nibbling on berries. “Felix,” said Rosie, “can we have some berries? We’re all hungry.” Felix looked at them and said, “No, they’re mine. I found them first.” Sammy tried to be polite, “But maybe we can share? We can all have some.” Felix shook his head. “No. I want them all.”
The animals felt sad and left, but not before Dana said, “If you keep hoarding everything, you’ll be all alone, Felix.” Felix didn’t listen. That night, he was so full of berries that he couldn’t sleep. He rolled over and over in the grass, feeling uncomfortable. He had never been so full before, and it wasn’t fun at all.
The next morning, Felix woke up feeling grumpy and lonely. He looked out of his den and saw the animals playing together, laughing and sharing snacks. He felt a pang in his heart. “Maybe I should try sharing,” he thought. He walked over to the berry bush and picked some more berries. Then he carried them over to the animals, who were still sitting under the tree.
“Here,” he said, placing the berries in front of them. “You can have these.” Rosie smiled, “Thank you, Felix. You’re the best.” Sammy said, “We can all share now.” Dana added, “Sharing makes everyone happy.” Felix felt a warm, happy feeling in his chest. He had learned that sharing was the most fun of all.
From that day on, Felix shared everything. The forest was a much happier place because of him, and the animals were all his friends. And so, Felix learned that the best way to have more is to share with others.
