Page 1: A Normal School Day
It was a normal school day. The bell rang, and the children hurried onto the playground, excited to enjoy their break.
Isaiah and his sister, Kemah, sat together eating their snacks.
“When we finish our snacks, let's go play on the swings!” Isaiah said with a smile.
“Okay!” Kemah replied happily.
The two siblings laughed and chatted as they finished their snacks. Then Kemah got up and walked toward the playground.
Page 2: Marcus Approaches Kemah
Suddenly, Marcus stepped in front of Kemah.
“Give me your snack!” he demanded.
“No, it's mine,” Kemah replied.
Marcus reached toward her snack.
“If you don't give it to me, I'm going to tell everyone you're a scaredy-cat!” he threatened.
Kemah felt uncomfortable, but she tried to stand up for herself.
“That's not fair, Marcus. You can't force me to give you my snack!”
“Then everyone will know you're a coward!” Marcus shouted.
Page 3: Isaiah Notices the Bullying
Isaiah noticed what was happening and walked over to his sister.
He didn't push Marcus or start a fight. Instead, he stayed calm.
“Marcus, that's not okay. Kemah said no,” Isaiah told him firmly.
“Mind your own business!” Marcus snapped.
“This is my business. She's my sister, and you're threatening her,” Isaiah replied.
Marcus looked annoyed, but Isaiah did not argue or fight with him.
“We're not going to fight you. We're going to get a teacher,” Isaiah said.
Page 4: Getting Away Safely
Isaiah and Kemah moved away from Marcus together.
They knew that fighting back could make the situation worse. Instead, they chose to get to safety and ask a trusted adult for help.

They walked straight to their teacher, Miss Valerie.
“Miss Valerie! Marcus keeps trying to take my snack and threatening me,” Kemah explained.
Miss Valerie listened carefully.
“I'm glad you told me, Kemah. You did the right thing. Nobody should threaten you or make you feel unsafe,” she reassured them.
Isaiah and Kemah felt relieved that they had asked for help.
Page 5: Learning About Bullying
Later, Miss Valerie gathered the children to talk about kindness, respect, and safety.
“Bullying is never okay,” she explained. “Nobody has the right to threaten you, take your belongings, or make you feel afraid.”
She continued, “If someone threatens you or tries to take something that belongs to you, move away if you can do so safely and tell a trusted adult.”
Miss Valerie spoke privately with Marcus about his behavior and explained how his actions had hurt Kemah.
Marcus realized that what he had done was wrong.
“I'm sorry, Kemah. I shouldn't have threatened you or tried to take your snack,” he said.
“Thank you for apologizing,” Kemah replied.
Marcus understood that he needed to treat others with kindness and respect.
Page 6: Don't Bully Back
During their next class discussion, Miss Valerie reminded everyone that bullying should never be answered with more bullying.
“You don't have to fight, push, or insult someone to prove that you're brave,” she explained.
Isaiah nodded.
“That's right! If someone bullies you, stay calm, move away if you can, and get help.”
Kemah added, “And never feel ashamed to tell someone what's happening to you.”
The children learned that making a safe choice was much better than getting into a fight.
Page 7: Help a Friend Who Is Being Bullied
Isaiah and Kemah spoke with their classmates about helping others.
Maryann raised her hand.
“I thought telling a teacher meant I was tattling,” she admitted.
“No,” Isaiah explained kindly. “If someone is being hurt, threatened, or bullied, asking for help is the right thing to do.”

Kemah added, “If you see someone being bullied, don't join in or laugh at them. You can help your friend move away safely and tell a trusted adult.”
“Remember to stay with people you trust,” Isaiah reminded everyone.
The children agreed that nobody should have to face bullying alone.
Page 8: Isaiah and Kemah Teach the Safety Rules
Isaiah and Kemah stood in front of their classmates and shared four important safety steps.
1. STOP.
Recognize when something is wrong. You have the right to say no.
2. THINK.
Stay as calm as you can and think about the safest thing to do.
3. GET SAFE.
Move away from danger if you can do so safely. Stay with people you trust.
4. TELL SOMEONE.
Tell a teacher, parent, guardian, or another trusted adult. If one adult doesn't listen or help, tell another trusted adult.
“If you see someone being bullied, don't join in,” Isaiah said. “Help them get to safety and tell an adult.”
The children smiled, proud that they had learned how to make safer choices.
Page 9: The Final Lesson
Miss Valerie smiled at the class.
“Remember, children, being brave isn't about being the strongest person. It's about knowing what to do when something isn't right.”
Isaiah and Kemah looked at their classmates.
“Speak up! Stay safe! Help each other!” they said together.
Everyone repeated the words with enthusiasm.
They understood that kindness, courage, and respect could help make their playground a happier and safer place for everyone.
And from that day forward, they remembered that no one should have to face bullying alone.
Safety Rules to Remember
STOP. THINK. GET SAFE. TELL SOMEONE.
Be kind. Respect others. Never bully back. Help a friend who is being bullied.
